We know that the Sicans and Sikels coexisted peacefully and that the Elymians established cities in the western part of Sicily (Erice, for example). With the colonization of the Greeks, all traces of the Elymians disappear. We know about a Sikel revolt that was put down by the Greeks who referred to them as "Siciliota". (Sucato 12)
